Greetings from Ireland

Mongoose
Hello everyone. I was born and raised in Manchester and moved to the Irish countryside in the mid-nineties.
My brother and I used to play AD&D in the mid to late eighties. Although my brother had Traveller back then we never played it.
Now I have kids of my own around the same age as I was when we used to play RPGs, I looked into getting Traveller. After a bit of Google searching I arrived at this website. So about 2 weeks ago I ordered 2 copies of the pocket edition core rulebook, one for me and one for my brother. We are still waiting for the books to arrive and can't wait to get started with them.
Unfortunately, where I live (Cavan) is far from any hobby/book/games shops. I live a 90 minute drive from Dublin and the only 2 shops I know of that sell RPG stuff are Forbidden Planet and Games Workshop, both in Dublin. I have looked in their shops many times and don't see any Traveller-related books. So a question for anyone living in Ireland: Are there any shops in Ireland that sell Traveller books?
We ordered our pocket edition books direct from Mongoose, but if there were any retailers here in Ireland we would be happy to purchase from them.

Thanks

Matt

Try Gamers World Dublin (http://gamersworlddublin.com/) on Jervis Street.

I'll also plug www.irishgaming.com and www.gaelcon.com as sites you may find useful.

That's great, thanks for those links. I didn't know of the shop on Jervis Street. I'll give them a call. Thank you

Matt

Hello adders, and welcome to the forum!

FYI: If you don't mind PDFs, MGT goodies can be near instantly fetched online at places like http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/index.php?cPath=4511

Hi BP.

I don't mind PDFs. Although I would probably spend quite a bit on black ink to also have a hard copy. I'm going to have a look at that link now. It's like going back in time looking at all the RPG books. I keep telling my kids that I'm going to get them into PROPER gaming, as they think that their XBox is the be-all and end-all. It's great to be back, and it's great to see 'pen and paper' rpg games are alive and kicking.

Thanks

Yeah - I'd save the ink and hassle and just buy the hardcopy and support the RPG industry rather than the crooked ink industry. ;)

I found the PDF of the core LBB to complement it nicely (esp. on an iPad), but I still like paper...

Thanks Jon.
No doubt once my pocketbook arrives I will be on these boards full-time annoying everyone with questions.

Most welcome to the forum, adders, and of course also your questions. :)

Ah, sorry to hear that, but at the same time it gives me a warm nostalgic glow when I remember my long bus journeys into the big city to visit "the Diceman", where I bought the Classic Traveller deluxe boxed set and many of the early adventures ...

Welcome to MGT!
