Got all mine today :D :D :D :D :D :D

Some quality control issues with the rule book, I certainly wouldn't take the copy I received off a shelf in a store. But the Fleet book is top notch in quality and in the layout. As for the content....wow on both. Absolutely superb.

I found 1 ship that I wouldn't use and I went through the fleet lists for my largets 9 fleets. All those lovely lovely ships, the choice of what to take has suddenly opened up completely.

Vorlons didn't get much loving the only fleet with AJP that can't jump point bomb because they don't have a scout.

There has always been a tendancy to compare the vorlons and shadows against each other, and in the last couple of outings the Vorlons came out on top, this time the Shadows have the edge I think, but that is just an opinion based on how they look in paper.

All in all it is a 9.5 out of 10
 
I love the fleet book I got in the post a couple of days ago...

Rules are great, everything looks yummy.

However the front cover was still slightly warped and the quality of the photos in the book was god awful... the colouration is terrible. the Pakmara pictures are the worst.

I cannot think why the images are so bad when the page boarders have been printed so cleanly and the few images from the show or magazine covers are printed brilliantly.

The photo of the Nemisis is completely out of focus as well...

I will have to have a chat with the guys at the tournament...

Don't get me wrong though... I'm still psyched to have the new book in my hands... :D

Agree re the Scout thing - you did get some very nice fighters - unlike the rubbish the Shadows get stuck with :)

it was one of the Narn skirmish ships, I don't recall which one right nw, I would need to look through the fleet list again which I will do later today.
 
I got mine too! In NJ but one small problem....my rule book is a little warped. I think there is something wrong with the binding. Does anyone else have that problem? I am wondering if I should contact Mongoose and see if they can replace it?
 
Got mine yestersday. I'm now blissed with my ACTA fix. I'm happy with the print and binding quality. Though some colour in the rule book would have been nice. Only problem I noticed was the margins of a page or two were a bit tight and some text got a bit burried in the spine.

Not too sure on the subject of Shadow Fighters, they are probably best suited to anti-ship work where their Shields will help as that trait is ignored in Dogfights. Or how the Minbari ones will work out as Stealth is ignored by Anti-Fighter fire.

The fact that Stealth is ignored by fighters when they get in base to base contact does have some implecations for how to base your fleet. I did prefer that when it was a fixed distance.

Shields also don't help against Antifghter - anyone with a decent rating blows you away - especially Minbari etc with Advanced version. As you only get 2 fighters for a patrol point you are also prone to be ganged up on by other fighters - something the more numerous :roll: vorlon ones are better by having their own advanced antifighter (plus of course a Beam). Now i don;t think the Vorlons are too good - just the Shadows are too bad - Either more range on their guns or being more numerous would have been OK. Still its not a big problem just a shame that the Shaodws have so few choices and one of them is poor.

My 2ed books arrived today, and im REALY pleased with the new fleet book, but yes, why are shadow fighters 2per patrol, thats the same as WSF's(and im glad they were down graded), and sum full size ships!!!!!!!!!!!
also, looking at things, i think abbai might have sufferd sumwhat

Don't worry you're not alone, I don't have my books yet either. But hopefully they should arrive in a day or so, otherwise it might have to resort to drastic measures; crying. :cry:
 
Pre-ordered mine as soon as it was available to order.
Still no sign of it.
Considering we were told that if you pre order it especially if based in uk you might get it early I'm alittle dissapointed that 2+ weeks after it was released I've still not got a copy.
I emailed Mongoose who said due to quality control issues they had reprinted, which I can understand. it's odd that they seem to have managed to get books to so many other people though...
That said I was told I'd get it this week and I've got a day left so we'll see.
