Hello everybody

A doubt arose to me while I was reading the "Arms and Equipment" supplement.
In the description of the Plated Coat, It says that it only requieres half the time to be donned or removed. So I thinked "half WHAT tiem" and that was the moment when I realised that there is no rule about the time cost of donning and removing armors.

Could somebody give me some help about this?

Thanks and greetings from Spain

I'd say you could use the AP armor as a rule-of-thumb: 1 minute for each AP of coverage over the overall body; except full plate. 1 minute per AP of coverage on each part.

Or, I suppose I could drag out my guide to medieval arms and armor and actually research this puppy....

I do recall that it took usually 40-60 minutes or more even to don and doff full plate armor, though.

Oh, and one more thing: I'd require an athletics or possibly acrobatics check for the character to squirm out of armor quickly, penalized by the SP of the armor, of course, should they be caught drowning in it or something. If they make the roll, change the removal time to combat rounds instead of minutes. Change it to 1 CA per AP of armor if they crit it....although I'd also rule they probably cut straps to do so, and will have to repair the armor before wearing it again (if, that is, it can be recovered at the bottom of the lake or whatever).

As some one that has a full suit of 16-18 gauge steel armour, that I used to fight in. It would generally only take 10-15 minutes to don the armour with one other person's help. And impossible to don on your own, unless specifically designed to be able to put on without help.
