Gencon UK

Looks like I'll be there. The Mongosse or BITS people will know where to find me...

Martin, we all know where to find you...

In the bar, under the table, unconscious with a spilled mug of ale next to you and drool coming out of your mouth...

just like last year.

:D

I resent that. It was a table in the gaming area, and it was single malt in the mug, not ale....

I'd have thought the insinuation that you had spilled good ale, let alone your single malt, would have been more of an issue....

I say we laser tag 'em all, hook those tags up to a GPS system and watch them duke it out on a Googlemaps overlay :)

Ale I can take or leave. Actually I'd rather leave it. As to the scotch, well, it's an excellent way of killing bacteria in food. Which might explain how everyone I ate with Friday lunchtime was ill but I was not....

We could video it and put it up on YouTube: "Avenger beats Mongoose: Bloodfest Kickboxing stylee"

Well there is always the LARP section at Gencon.

Matt vs Martin with padded swords, he who crys like a girl loses.

GAME ON

How does Gencon UK compare to Gencon USA? I've been to the last few GCs here (thanks to WotC having such a great Booth Slave program) but I don't think I'd ever be able to do one outside the country.

It is about a thousand times smaller...

I've been to both and quite frankly UKGC does not compare. At all.

I'm sorry to hear it is "smaller" than the US Gencon (GC). Last year was my first year at GC and that first sight of the exhibit hall just about took my breath away. Any other con I've ever been to, no matter how big, could fit into a small portion of the exhibitors hall

Isn't it normally held in a working mens' club down some side street, where the only attendee is some ol' fella wi't flat cap n whippet?

Or at a Butlins Holiday Camp... :x

In a circus tent, with power cuts and wind and rain making it inside.

Maybe Reading Uni will be better. Maybe.
