Gary Gygax has passed away

Its kind of odd to think that this man who has died, whom I have never spoken to, met or seen outside of static pictures on the net has had along with the others (Dave Arneson) who helped at the time, made such a huge and lasting impact on my life due to thier creation some 27 years ago.

I don't think there will ever be adequate enough words to express how much the roleplaying his creation (Dungeons and Dragons) meant to me or continues to mean to me.. PnP roleplaying changed my life, introduced me to history and fiction in ways i could never have contemplated before and gave spark to my imagination like nothing else before or since.

thank you, you will be missed Mr Gygax

gone, but never forgotten..

I just got the phone call and was headed this way to break the news.

It is a very solemn day in thegaming community.

Gary, wherever you are, I know you are rolling dice and having a great time still sir. I, and everyone in this industry, owes a debt to you. I hope I do you proud.

Take care of you and yours, everyone,
Bry

RIP.
AD&D was one of my first insights into 'Roleplaying', not sure if he wrote those though. He made a big step in fantasy roleplaying as we see it today though.
He shall be missed.

Gary had a good long run and helped bring the content of fantasy novels to life in the minds of gamers around the world. He will be sorely missed and always remembered fondly.

If I see him on the other side, I hope there's a spot at the table for me.

A random purchase of a red box set 22 years ago was where I started gaming.

Now all these years later Im involved with making the games I loved as a child.

Rest in Piece and thanks for the adventures Mr Gygax.

Rog.

While, based upon his editorials, I'd never want to play with/under E Gary Gygax, his & Dave Arneson's innovation has spawned the entire RPG hobby...

And the spinoff into computer "RPG" games.

His presence will be missed, by many, for different reasons. For me, it's the loss of "a great old one." Rest in Peace....

:( just didn't make that last saving throw.

RIP Gay and thank you for giving us all something to do with our friends.
