I finally finished my Narn fleet so I figured I would finally post them here. I'm using some proxies for the Thentus, Rongoth/Rothan, and Sho,Kos since I don't like the original versions (I hope that's ok here). These pictures aren't the best (the flash was too bright) so I'll see if I can get some better pics later. The pics were taken at the Panhandle Miniature Figure Society show yesterday.
Thats a great looking fleet, how did they do in the show? Can't wait to see what they look like without being washed out by light. But it looks like Court Jester is going to have some competition as the board's best painter.
I'm intrigued to know what the huge object in the background of the first picture with " Turn -> " painted on the base is.

Thank you for the comments. I won a silver medal for the fleet which I am more then happy with. There was stiff competition in all divisions.
The large object is an Ork Hulk. It is a very nice model (in an Orky kind of way).

In your second pic, I can see several models which aren't from the ACTA range, so I take it that these are your proxies for the models you don't like.
I was wondering if these are scratch built or something that is commercially available, as I like the look of a couple of them and they seem to fit the fleet very well.

Yes, that is correct. The ships closest to the camera (with the thin hulls) are Spiculum from Renegade Legion: Interceptor which I use as Thentus. The ships a little further back (with the thicker hull) are the original Lance Electras from Silent Death and I use them for the Rongoth/Rothan (the Rothan version is blue in another pic). Furthest from the camera are modified AOG Gorith fighters that I use for the Sho'Kos.

Thanks for all your comments. I painted my first Narn ships way back when AoG first released their ships. However, I found the process of painting them extremely tedious and only painted a couple of ships. But, last year my friends and I started playing ACTA and I got the bug to paint the Narn again…and quickly I remembered why I stopped so long ago. 
I really wanted to have a painted fleet of Narn, but I just couldn’t bring myself to painting them. And so again I put painting aside and used primed ships…until the day of my epiphany! :idea: I was looking at various pictures of Narn ships online wondering how I could paint my ships to look like 3D models. But, the ships are 3D they just don’t have any textures applied. “How can I apply a texture to a real model, I thought?” I thought about it for a while and decided to try printing my own decals as if they were texture maps. Well, I guess the genie’s out of the bottle now, eh? I still had to go through a lot of trial and error since what you see on screen is different from what you print and is different from how it looks on the model. Also, the compound curves of some of ships made fitting the decals quite the challenge, but I think it all worked out quite well.
So, Urobach, can you guess how the “armor plates” were done?
I hope no one thinks I “cheated”.
I like to think of it as painting with a different medium. And in person, the ships actually look like they were hand painted. My favorite moment was at the figure show when the guy who had just won the Best in Show award complimented me on how nice my ships looked and wanted to know what air brush I used.:wink:
