Blu Magic - re 3 fighters to a base, don't see why not. In my opinion 3 fighters at different heights, pinned on a round base look much better anyway. Considering re-basing my own fighters in this way and of course makes fighter numbers go much further as well.

I think I'll actually make a guide for that, as that seems to be a popular modification, using just a flight base, a pack of fighters, and some paper clips (or true copper rod if you're hardcore).

Only possible concern I have is do tthey survive the rigours of transportation and gaming or are you continually having to repair as you go along.

What blue did you use? I'd prefer a darker, more regal blue... But it could have been the flash.

I use games workshop paints (because im addicted, ill admit it.) I based the Sharlin with black, and applied a blue ink. I then drybrushed a heavy layer of enchanted blue, then a lighter layer of ultramarines blue, then ice blue, and then a layer of 50/50 ice blue and white to specific areas. The nose, guns and bridge are picked out with white. The Black Star is written in bleached bone.

Ahh, my bad sir. The centauri were based with white, and then blue inked. A light drybrish of ice blue was added. I tryed layering more blues, but it was a lot of work for not a good payoff. The real trick was the varnish. I use the dork tower spray varnish (i cant remember the brand name) It really brings out the blue, and it makes the model smell like vanilla!

Just remember, what goes in must come out. Not sure Centauri would be a good choice for that what with all those sharp fins and things. Better to stick to civilian liners and such I think... :lol:

I use Army Transport foam trays. I just made a hole for the fighter base, going in face down, and I can pick it up by the ship, or the base, just fine.

You filled the hole with green stuff and everything. Looks great. I put a bit of water on my glass table top, and then I pushed the green stuff through the hole with a files dull end, and ran the base back and forth. The water and the smooth glass table made the green stuff smooth like the base, so it doesn't look like a clump of clay sticking out of a hole in a plastic base.

Some came out, some didn't. I think yours look great. The third one look like it may have a slight bulge, but it could just be the lighting.

i think its because the green stuff had a bit of dried in yellow in it, i filed it down and it'll be ok when i get some undercoat on it i hope.

I think you're right, I can see the yellow now, I thought it was just shine, but I see what you're describing. I'm sure they'll be awesome, can't wait to see them painted.

For this, I used several resources to get the pattern just right. Unlike the White Star, the 3D images of Sharlins are not as close up, given its size, so I had to improvise some, which I really hate doing.

For the array in the front, I used all of the arrays to better match the array seen on the show, I figured that my opponent will most likely be seeing the front end as it beams its way through their front line, so I used some small wire to represent the back array.

All array pieces have a dot of white paint, as the image I used for a reference had them somewhat glowing, and I figured that would be the only way to get that effect.

My local store is sold out of G'Quans, on one hand I am told it is terrible in game terms, but it is one of those canon ships and I just want to paint it. I may get and paint a G'Vrahn, as I had one used against me the other day and liked it, and that might be a good next step in building my Narn.

I wish I could play as often as I get to paint, but yea, I just have so much fun painting these things. It is nice to sit down and finish a project in a single night.
