Gaim ship design

Does anyone know the theory/gamefluff for the two styles of Gaim
ships (the winged ones and the bulbous ones). They look like they belong to two different races.

Lots of races have differing shapes to their ships, their just different design schools.

Like the Minbari they have the angelfish shape and the three pronged form (although with the change of the Troligan to angelfish the three pronged form now only has two ships in it, the Neshatan and the White Star).

The EA has many different styles. The Centauri have several...

Don't have the book but it might be due to evolution in designs, should have to check the years.

It's like the old/new brakiri (there i didn't check dates either) but they had the round (avioki, tashkat, brokardos ect) and the news boxy ships (corumai, cidikar)

Also possibly the influence of function. Which ships are atmosphere capable?

And in the Brakiri case, the different ships are built by different corporations with different design philosophies, and the Ikorta hull ships are built on the planets surface (and hence could continue to be built during the Dilgar war when the Brakiri homeworld was blockaded) whereas the others are built in orbital yards and don't have to enter atmospheres.
