Furballs late to the party ??

So, it's the end of the month of May (give 5 days, too be fair), and the furball's are still missing (more interested in the Glorious Gorns, the True race of power - must be scared of them as they keep getting put back - pre-ordered when thought they were coming in February). Don't mind waiting (too much), but some idea in regard to the release shedule would be good (the NA crew aren't the only ones to note the release dates are 'variable')

Not a complaint, just would be nice to know - now that the big 3 are out.

Well there were a painted Tholian PC, Kzinti ship (didn't look too closely), mobile base and heavy freighter at the Expo today. I'll ask Matt tomorrow.

My only concern with the furballs being late is that it makes the mighty plasma users late as well.

I don't think so? I got a message yesterday that my Romulans shipped. :P

Romulans...... Mighty Plasma Users. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Oh dear. Romulans........... Glad to see you have a sense of humour there Mckinstry.

I did see the Mobile Base (which I thought was going to be a really boring mini, like the ADB one) and the Large Freighter (ditto) but the increased size (mobile base is now in scale with ships, not significantly smaller) and they are actually really interesting minis. The large freighter was getting compliments on how it looked from people. The mobile base is now a respectable size and really nice looking. There are pods around a central hub, and they look like the tug cargo pods from the Federation Tug in the Franz Joseph set, but scaled to Starline 2500.

The Large Freighter has some nice girder work and looks like a mini I'll enjoy painting.

There was a Tholian PC and two Kzinti ships, but I didn't get a good luck at them to see what they were.

I'm actually now looking forward to getting and painting Large freighters and Mobile Bases, as oppose to regarding them as something I have to get for some scenarios.

If you have seen a cat cough up a furball it takes time for them to do that.

Also it is only the Kzinti a minor race at best . The main players (Fed, Rom, Kling) are all out with the Gorn plodding along behind.

There are a lot of SFB players who have Gorn and Kzintis as their favourite races. While it's great to have the big three out (and all the ships for them) there are people waiting patiently for the models for their races, and while delaying and redesigning the Gorns has made the models look substantially nicer, to the point where I am considering getting the Gorn as a fleet (I was going to have a squadron of Orions anyway from the Klingon/Orion box and the mixed boxes, and was planning to swap any Kzinti I get in those boxes for Tholians.

I'm really liking the new design of the Gorn.

We stride slowly and purposefully, we amble as befits such a mighty race of beings. We take our time so we don't run into any lurking ambushes from those cowardly Romulan’s.

But we do NOT PLOD

Anyway everyone should like the new wild side designs, they add detail and character to the most impressive ships in the universe.

So get the Furballs out of the way. The Gorn are incoming. Tremble in fear before the wrath of the True Plasma race, The Mighty Gorn. Mwahahahahahahahahacough

We all know the Gorn's nicked the Plasma Torpedo tech from the Romulans.

That is the real reason the Romulan's Cloak is so that the Thieving Magpies called the Gorn do not nick any more stuff.

Yeah, you kind of do but we thought plod sounds better than slow to anger and pretty much everything else.

They are indeed nice ( not most impressive but no longer a listless frisbee collection). I was going to pick up some Gorns anyway to soak up fire for the Feds :P in mixed games but now, they are a fleet worth owning on merit.

Any race the adds 'plasma fried tribble' to the food pool (along with the occasional Lemming - still not sure about those :? ), should rightfully be given a great place of honour. It's just a pity tribbles don't move fasters, as a hunting target - not a great challenge.

:) Now i understand where the Lemmings fit in

Clearly you have failed to understand the great Trible hunt theme.

If you want a hunt that involves lots of searching for a hidden Trible then staple the Trible to a Romulan prisoner and let him loose in the hunting preserve.

If you want a hunt that involves lots of running around then staple the Trible to a Klingon.

As a note though the Klingon does run around a lot and makes all sorts of annoying noises when you staple a Trible to his back. It’s best to use industrial (Gorn) sized staples and fix the Trible to the back where they cannot reach.

Plodding. Bah. We struggled mightily against great odds, stories will be told of the legendary Gorn heroes who overcame terrible hardships and faced horrifying enemies to banish once and for all the link between the Noble Gorn race and LUMBERING.

What do we have to show for it? PLODDING.

We're just waiting for the next errata when Plodding will be officially added as a new trait for most Gorn ships. I believe Plodding ships will be limited to a single turn, and will be unable to use the HET special order ;)

This is weird, because I was working on some stuff to see if Matt wanted it, and I added the Plodding trait for ships whose maximum move is 4".
