Iron is the most abundant element by mass of our entire planet, making up 35% of the mass of the Earth as a whole.

And yes i do realise that that isn't the same as iron ore, and the majority of it isn't really assessable, and thus not really at threat...

You know how to get the "save the earth" bunch all wound up? Begin a rumor that smelters will shortly begin drilling deep holes to suck out the interior liquid iron core of the planet.. I'm a baaad man. :lol:
