You haven't missed it. The event is this coming Saturday (June 23rd). If you check the official site you can look for a gaming store near you.

Cool - I'll have to stop by. I thought for sure I heard some talk about one last year but I guess that was just discussing this years Free RPG Day. There's a store not to far from my house, I'll try and stop in. This sounds like a good idea - I hope it helps grow the gamer community.

I got to my local game store when it opened and watched them unwrap and put out the copies of the free stuff this morning. I don't think they had more than 12 copies of anything they were giving away and one product only had 2 or 3 copies of it. I took a copy of the In Dark Alleys demo game. The Runequest adventure didn't include Quick Start rules, which was kind of dissapointing.

So what products were there besides dark alleys and runequest?

They had some quickstarts for Castles and Crusades, Tunnels and Trolls, Septimus, Changeling, some adventures, and a miniatures game based on Little Wars by H.G. Wells.

What is the RuneQuest thing like?

Man am I bummed! I was on vacation in VA and even found a participating store, but when I went there, they hadn't received their stuff. They said to try back next weekend. Then when I got home, my usual store was out of their shipment.

Apparently the UK version is going to be on the 21st of July.

Yeh, but I don't think the UK has nearly half of the paricipating shops like the US did. But atleast theres one near me
