Whoa! Hey there, bitter are we?

Since this thread was originally started to lighten up the atmosphere between sometimes fractious groups on the board I say let them come play (so long as they can feild six players, and, y'know, stoop to the level of playing with us mongeese and rq'ers).

If you got beef with some dudes by all means start a seperate thread for flaming. It will get deleted eventually but they can be fun while they last. We haven't had a really good flame war around here in a while.

Or even a Trollball game. The whole point of volleyball was the, like, non-violence thing (dood).

Andakitty is very much on the fence right now. Since I am not feeling particularly pro or anti Mongeese but would REEEALLY like a good version of Elric/Hawkmoon or the basis of what looks like a good version of MRQ (GM book?, Runes (as Loz' Elric ones), fixed combat table and workable skill vs. skill rules) I guess I am more in score-keeper and 'sell me' mode right now. Otherwise I can always continue with my houserules, which are not nearly as easy to get anyone to play as a published game(plus being a chore), preferably a PRETTY published game (Elric looks like its gonna be pretty). It's just more work than I have time for, too. How much have you guys had to houserule it? Be honest and brutal, never mind trollkin with spears. I am going to have a look at Elric, at least. Loz is a damn good game writer.

Give me some reasons I should support MRQ (and thus Loz AND an alternative to D20), because I would love to start a game around here besides some form of D20 or Shadowrun. Start a separate sell-the- fencesitter thread, it should be entertaining. Get me back on the go-go Mongeese team, Rurik.

I have looked at the MRQ wiki, thoroughly. I think Elric and Hawkmoon will be what finally decide me...unless atgxtg or Rurik can make a good oratory roll. Please give it a try. I am teetering...

Heavy rules discussions DO NOT belong on the volleyball thread, so maybe we'll start a "convince andakitty to convert to the dark side thread" (Bryan tells me all the cool kids are doing it - I wouldn't know as I'm an old dork).

Yeah, but the new releases upcoming (Elric and Hawkmoon) have me reconsidering. You might remember, I was a big Stormbringer fan, not RQ so much. Even though I don't really care for the EC stuff Moorcock has been putting out the last few years. That is one of my concerns, aside from how they might/might not have modified the MRQ engine...how much of the newer 'feel' is in the game compared to the older. There is no inconsistency in my position, just a new willingness to be open minded and give it another chance...

As for a sell-me-on-the-dark-side thread, go for it. I would appreciate it at this point, and it's not as dark as the D20 morass around here anyway, believe me.

Meanwhile, I'm just keeping score. Considering how I have been feeling about Mongoose, as you say, that's progress.

*Sigh*. Looks like we'll need to clear a bigger field, and use a "Y" shaped net. We might as well include the D20 junkies and go with a "X" shpaed net.

But what's volleyball without hot babes in bikinis? We are all RPGers, right?

Actually, the first Forum Volleyball games will be in the U.S. - Mainly because I'm the organizer and that is where I live. And volleyball seemed like a good internationally recognised sport.

Can you imagine the arguments that would happen if I tried to organise a Football game? We'd all be arguing about what shape the ball should be (round indeed - who ever heard of such a thing?).

If it is a hit we'll hold the second tourney in England.
