Flynn's Guide To Robots...

Hey Flynn, when it's ready, are you going to give out free previews?

(I ask because I really want one, but have no job and no money and can't buy one yet.)

Because of work and Real Life issues, I'll have to push the deadline for publication back two weeks, to September 14. Otherwise, Flynn's Guide to Robots is looking good.

The next issue of Stellar Reaches is waiting on the new Fair Use Policy to come out, so that I can bring it into compliance.

In regards to a free preview, one will be made available on the Samardan Press website when the product is released, so have no worries, my friend.

With Regards,
Flynn

Take your time and do it right ('cause you know we'll mock you if you don't, or even if you do!). The free preview should be given a link when available.

No worries. I'll be ready for the mocking. I've been thinking up scintillating one-liner comebacks for months now. I've got some great ones lined up, like "Yeah?", "So?" and "Whatchu talkin' about, Willis?" I can't wait to unload my savage arsenal of quips and retorts.

Okay, who am I kidding? I'm not that good at retorting. I guess I may as well just do it right, huh? :D

Hasta,
Flynn

Good Afternoon, All:

This is a quick update, as my work schedule doesn't really allow me much more than that at the moment. The project I've been working on has eaten up more of my time than I had originally hoped, and so the manuscript will not be ready this weekend. As the extended deadline for the project is now October 10th, I imagine that I'll be stuck in the same boat for the next month or so. Sadly, that means some bad news: I have to push Flynn's Guide to Robots back to an October release.

However, because you guys have been so supportive and interested, I'm going to try and put out a special preview here once a week, to give you guys a taste of what lies ahead for when the book will finally be ready. With that in mind, what kind of things would you like to see previewed here?

With Regards,
Flynn

Well, October is fine with me, too. :D

As for the preview, what about a glimpse at the hostile environment
stuff, if it is developed far enough to show it to us ?

Exactly. You know that, when/should I buy this (presuming I get a job and earn some money), I intend to buy this so I can make robots more easily that I could with CT Bk8.

Whoo hoo...

Something to read during the Canadian Thanksgiving long weekend. With luck HG should be out then too (not, of course, that Amazon.ca would ship it then...).

Looking forward to it, and aye... take y'time about it !

Take care all

Good Evening, All:

Our first preview for "Flynn's Guide To Robots" is an image of our front cover:

I am preparing a small PDF of some of the hostile environment rules to demonstrate some of the content, but until it's ready, I figured I'd at least get this up for your review.

Looks cool! But do make sure that you can use the cover image. If that's a NASA/JPL image (of a Mars Rover, by the looks of it) then I'm pretty sure you'd need to ask their permission to use it on a commercial product.

By their own website, the image has no copyright and the only restriction to using any of their images applies to the use of their logos and identifying trademarks to imply that NASA supports a specific product, service or activity. (Oh, and if the image contains an identifiable person, you have to have that person's permission before using it.) I do intend to put a disclaimer on the title page towards that effect, just to make sure, but I'm pretty sure the cover is safe.

Thanks For The Concern, Though,
