Flynn's Guide To Robots...

In your design system, you might also want to include modules for Exotic, Corrosive and Insidious Atmospheres. I figure those worlds, especially Insidious are going to have a LOT of robots doing the outside work...

Might blend well into the Aquatic and Space stuff, sort of an "alternate exterior environment adaptation" section...

I had originally lumped all of that under Hostile Environments, but it may be worthwhile to be specific in regards to Corrosive versus Insidious.

Thanks!

Quick Update: It's taking me a bit longer than I thought to get the basic design system wrapped up for a first draft. Still, I hope to have it done by this weekend, so I can begin the robot creation process and institute tweaks as needed.

As an update, the Traveller SRD has been released today. There will be some need for revision in the current Robot Design System, to make sure it is compliant with the Open Game Content that has been released. It shouldn't be too many changes, but I need to make sure that I stay in compliance, and so today will be spent in reviewing what I've done so far and fixing any OGC issues.

More Later,
Flynn

I'd like to have it out before Gen Con Indy, but since my world turns upside down the week before, with work and family and all that jazz, I imagine that my target date will be August 31st, 2008. I will aim for earlier, of course, but I think that's a realistic date.

Hope This Helps,
Flynn

I hope you have no serious problems.

As for the robot guide, I will be pleased to see it whenever it is published,
and August 31st would still be an earlier date than I had expected. :D

I started a new job July 1st, and it has left me more drained than I thought it would. Nonetheless, I have moved forward with writing, though not as much as I had hoped. I am still aiming for the August 31st self-imposed deadline, and I will do what I can to avoid having to shift that back. Thanks for the continued interest, and I will strive to post more here to keep you up to date on how things are moving.

Flynn

What about rules to link up robots to vehicles? I for one would like to deploy 200 automated ten-ton fighters to destroy my enimies. Things like 1000 ton automated battleships would be fun to have, and would start plots if they ran amock for some reason (a creative hacker for one).

Such information has already been considered for inclusion, and you'll find it in the book. No worries, you'll get your chance to unleash automated terror on your campaign. :)

Not as fast as I'd like, but at least it's moving. :) With Gen Con coming up next week, I don't think I'll get much done before the 19th. I'll be able to give a full update at that time.

Wish Me Luck,
Flynn
