Fleet Landing Party Now Available!

I am getting annoyed myself waiting on an order that seems like forever. I was happy with th company's service until recently, now I just think it was crap. I sent an email to sales, which was ignored, the second one I sent was answered by Alex Fennell, saying he would pass it on, and got no reply then. Eventually the book in my order arrived, and a little note saying 'minis to come'. Still waiting on them.

Just a quick note here; our mail order department (a guy called Russell) has been devastated by illness of late, so communication has been slow recently. However, he is now fighting fit (!), and is ploughing through the backlog at full speed.

The Fleet troops (and Brutes) will start going out this coming week. Apologies for the delays.

Still no Fleet Landing party miniatures after nearly two months now and no reply to my recent emails either.

I'm glad you posted the info here Matt (and thank you for doing so, I hope your mail order guy is feeling better as well - do you only have one though?) - but if you hadn't, how would I know what was happening?

I'm just a little surprised because previously I've been astounded by the quality of Mongoose's service and communication, but this time if I hadn't posted here I'd be seriously concerned, even grumpier than I am now and (frankly) wondering if the company was still around, or cared about my custom...

Erm... just a quick question here. Does this mean if one person gets ill the whole part this guy manages is down for that time?
Don't you have any kind of "emergency order" to have at least part of his work taken over by another guy?
At least such important costumer-related things like mail order REALLY should have such a "plan B".

Of course we do - but whoever gets pulled in to cover has their job to do as well. It will never be as efficient.

MGP appears to still be running as a small company.

We _are_ a small company! What makes you think we are not???

Hey, Matt doesn't actually need to buy a nuclear bomb-proof bunker, I'm not that annoyed about the figures!

(Yet)

:D

Mongoose's new HQ in the US! :D

Sheesh, and you'd think he could have dropped by when he was out my way...

I'm aware of this, but the point I'm making is that perhaps it is time to grow just a little mate. You have so much space to cover now. I don't quite know how the company works, but I'm sure many people would agree with me.
I mean, do all orders come from the UK? Surely US orders should be coming from the US offices? :?

If things do not grow or evolve they stagnate and atrophy. If the company was bigger it might have tackled the printer facility and evo fiasco better.

I don't mind if you're a big company or a small company, although personally I'd like to see you go from strength to strength with a great turnover, good profit and excellent reputation amongst gamers, retailers and your peers.

More importantly though, I'd like my Fleet Landing Party soon. Please?

C'mon Matt, with the greatest respect it's been well over a week since you said stuff was starting to be posted and I've still not seen a thing, nor had an email reply from you (or anyone) telling me if/when my order would go out, nor a post from anyone here saying 'Stop moaning about it, my FLP has just turned up so yours should soon'.

Where's my glowey warm 'Mongoose cares about my order, and my future custom' feeling? Two months is a long time to wait - should you have made such a big 'Hey guys, stuff's available' announcement without being 100% sure you could (literally) deliver on orders placed immediately on the strength of that, regardless of a (single) regretable case of staff illness?

Or worse.

Things are as they are - the company does grow, but at a controlled and sustainable rate. If problems arise, they are fixed _before_ we move on. It is easy (and interesting!) to speculate how a company should do A, B and C, but you should also bear in mind that there is absolutely no one on these forums qualified to comment on how this company runs - that is not a slight on any one here. It is just no one has full command of the facts.

How do you know that for a fact . . . . . . . . . . . .

Because there is only one person in the world who has all the facts. . .

I _knew_ when I typed it that someone would say that! :)

Being bigger doesn't always mean being "better." Both Boeing and Airbus are HUGE companies...and both have managed to screw up the launch and introduction of their respective "flagship" products (A380 and B787).

If MGP were in the "mega" size range, I doubt we'd be seeing posts like this. One benefit of being smaller is the attention the individual customer can receive.

And yes, indeed...no one that is not directly involved with MGP has all the facts.

Regards.

Thats not a particularly smart way of running a company though, is it.

As an Accountant, I can tell you if only ONE person has all the information about the day to day running of any company (big or small) that in itself is problematic.

Umm, we aren't talking about day-today running. There are a few people in the company who can cover that.

Does that cover mail order too then?

Matt, I'm loving that you're reading and contributing to the thread so much (especially today), the banter is great and it's all good fun - except you seem to have commented on everyone else's posts, comments and queries except mine, and I've asked you a couple of (well intentioned and hopefully polite) direct questions... any chance of an answer for me too?
