Flames Of BFE?

I have a lot FOW stuff. Are there mod rules (like WWII-BFE) with which one could play larger WW2 battles with the BFE rules?

There aren't yet.

There were 10mm rules being worked on using the old GROPOS minis, but nothing has been heard regarding that for a long time. Porting them into WWII would have been pretty simple, and even if Mongoose hadn't done it somebody would have about 10 minutes after it was released.

Because of the infantry elements in FOW it possibly isn't suitable for a direct port, but with a bit of rules fiddling i might be possible. If you have infantry on single bases though you are fine.
 
They're noodling around with it on the "Portable BFEVO" thread. Nothing official, of course, but house rules can work OK too.

The only problem in FO-BEF would be that more than one infantrist is on a stand.
But giving the big stands 4 or 5 hits, and the small stand 2 or 3 hits could solve that problem.
The only rule that would need a change is the allocation of damage dice. That could be done by always giving the full number of hits as damage dice, before going over to the next nearest model in the fire zone.
Firing infantry get as many attacks as it has hits. Every weapon can only attacks once per action. Standart infantry would get 4 attacks. If you have a squad with rifles and a MG, you could fire 3 rifles and one MG. Settung up the MG with a ready action would make sense.

Make all inches from WWII-BFE centimeters.
A fire zone would have 6 centimeters.
A command stand of an unit would have a command radius of 6 centimeters for the stands of it unit.

The nice thing would be, we would have a LOT of tanks and infantry models to go with. The existing FOW stuff could be used as a guide for balancing the values of units.
 
Hi 22, i have started work on this small scale indeed acouple of weeks ago for modern battles...
Quick ideas i had...
Infantry stand...
1. you get 1 d6 damage dice for " all assault rifles "
2. if you have a Mg etc, you add 2 extra d6

So a infantry section would have 3 d6 to attack with

One hit with out save will remove the stand,

With Tanks, all i did was remove the "Tough" hits rule, so all tanks are killed with 1 hit, all weapons are weaker by 1 point, so a main tank gun is -3 not -4

Suppression, i had rules for tanks and aircraft can be suppressed as well, i mean if you was driving though a war torn street and get hit by a rpg, you may lose a action over the surprise hit...

Aircraft, that lose 1 action can still action, but 2 actions lost, means you have to left the battlefield, as the sky is not safe for a few turns...

Etc,Etc
 
I sold my Flames of Warhammer stuff and decided to concentrate on BEVO. Then Mongoose announced they were ditching it. Go me. Thankfully I don't bet on horse racing.

I did the opposite, selling my Evo stuff getting into Flames of War
 
Flames of Warhammer. . . but it is true, FOW has many similarities to Warhammer stuff. Sadly.

That is why I would try Flames of BFE. That would be much better.
