First Sign Ups for Wayfarer

Yes, indeed. Because there will be much editing and cutandpasting. And we all know where that leads.

The first is from Wraith Recon (The Kingdom of Dardarick)...
I'm trying to work out which way those rivers flow, and it's giving me a headache. At least in Glorantha there's only one river that flows uphill.

LOL. I just glanced at the maps, and thought they were a little fuzzy/hard to read but not as bad as some I'd seen. Then I saw your comment & looked back at the map...hmm they all flow from bottom to top...hang on, doesn't that one split in full flow -- that doesn't happen...hang on, isn't that a river on the right that crosses over another river that seems to flow from the top to the bottom sea...hang on.

Ahhh, the pain.

Yeah, better map work is really needed.

Will you be needing any additional playtesters for Wayfarer?
The system isn't changing. What they need is proofreaders.

Its true that the system isn't changing but since this is a new integration into the rules it will need to be checked for balance and theme, which needs play testing, not of the core rules but of how this specifically runs and feels.

And play testers can help with proof reading in early stages as well if needed.

Just as a sneak piece of info for fans who frequent this forum, we have just signed up the first new book for Wayfarer, a conversion of the Spider God's Bride
Huge Score!!
I was wondering where the system would go now that so much has changed. I never dared hope that this would happen. I bought the Spider Gods Bride on a whim a while back and was blown away. It was if the ghosts of Howard, Lovecraft, and especially Ashton Clark Smith were summoned together to co-write adventures for role-playing. These adventures really capture the spirit and greasiness of sword and sorcery.
The SGB also resurrects an old paradigm of role playing: rather than numerous background books, the game world is learned about through the adventures themselves. It is truly a story driven supplement with piles of great adventures that can be used individually in any game world, or used one after another to form a whole campaign.
The one fatal flaw (in my view) is that it was not a d100 game system.
I am dying to get my hands on this one. Hopefully Thusla can be persuaded to write some more material in the future.

Wonderful news! I think SGB will be great first setting specifically for Wayfarer (assuming that AoT is still coming out under the RQ brand).

AoT is set to be in old (large, hardback) format - but RuneQuest references are being swapped out right now for Wayfarer. It's not going to print for another couple of weeks or so - hence we had time to add that to the errata and proofing list.

Does anyone know when the RuneQuest licence runs out?

I'm guessing that you already read the official announcement about Wayfarer, but just in case, here's the excerpt from that announcement that addresses your question.

"The Wayfarer rulebook will be appearing in the winter this year, and the current RuneQuest II range will remain available until this time – so if you want to grab the last of the ‘larger’ (and leather bound) format books, you can do so and be assured they will remain compatible with any new material."

I suppose, though, that you're more interested in knowing the exact date.

I must say that the Wayfarer announcement has been very effective at motivating me to go on a RuneQuest buying spree.

OK, I should have known that.

The interior art in the Xoth publishing D20 version is very evocative. Will Mongoose retain it? Also, I reckon that it needs a 'Quilliams' cover, as does the Wayfarer main rules book. 8)

Great catch! I've been wanting the xoth.net stuff for a long time and having it in Wayfarer form makes it a win-win for me.
