Looks good on paper; but I voted to leave them. I suspect they might bog the game down with more paper work then its worth.

Voted love them as we already have fires on our modded crit chart. They don't slow the game down at all as they do damage in repair phase. It's far easier to remember about them than remembering that your ships as -4 speed crit, only fires wpns on a 4+ since they happen in different phases and you tend to remember things that do damage.
Has All to Deck changed to fixing crits even done that turn? Would be good if it has because it's they way we have played it for about a year and a half. We try to use on our ships we know are going take a serious amount of hits that turn.

I think the crit table works fine as it is; this adds paperwork and administration and slows the game down.

And ships die quite quickly enough already.

I agree, fire just doesn't work as a mechanic in ACTA, too complex, and as I argued before, any fires in a ship in space generally would only last long enough for a ship to vent that section to space. :P

We tried them out and found that this Rules are not working for Acta it slows down the game and you have to keep track about the fire so if you are unlucky with youre rolls a single fighter hit takes out youre armagedon level Ship

you can't always vent a section to space. B5 ships are freaking huge, and sealing off enough coradors to vent all the atmosphere from a fire would esily disrupt the operations of a ship as much as punching a hole in the hull forcig large sections to be sealed off.

I think there's some margin for more record-keeping or complexity without bogging the game down much at all, but this is *not* what I would add to fill that margin. It's really pretty useless IMO. Even something like keeping records of ammo expended would be a better use of the paper.

no place for them, we been using them for a while and it can be devastating to smaller ships, especially the amount of fires you can get from a big crit, like a 4d6 one. that will prob cripple/skeleton you and then you need 6s to put out the fires or something, guaranteeing the ship will die.

ships die rather quickly as it is so it isnt really necessary, but a nice addition perhaps for smaller games I suppose.

I'd say leave them. It just adds more paperwork and slows the game down. It's not fair on races that rely on smaller hulls like the Drazi as they could easily be Skeleton Crewed with a few unlucky dice rolls. Crew criticals as written already cause casualties due to fires and I don't think it's necessary to add a "rolling damage" rule for them.

To me they just don't fit the feel of B5.

Off the topo f my head the only incident on the show where on board fires caused deaths (yes I know there are likely others, but I've just watched over half a season of Space : Above and Beyond in less than a day so my B5 recollection is a little hazier than usual) is the dock workers in S:1 ANy MEans Necessary
