Finally got my Conan GM screen!

YAY!!!!

:):):):):)

Ok, so the map has a lot of flaws, like Vincent Darlage pointed out. :)

But I'M just happy I can actually point and indicate "Ok boys, you are around THIS point." Instead of folding the main book in half and trying to point with a ballpoint pen.

And there's an army of useful info in the screen, too. :)

I have the 1st edition Gm screen.

I have not heard or seen anything remotely ressembling a 2nd edition GM screen.

I would like that very much, though. :)

I couldn't swear to it, but I don't think any Mongoose game that has had multiple editions has had a GM screen for more than one of said editions.

Though the scheduled GM screen for the new version of Paranoia might be the first as there was a GM screen for Paranoia XP.

I never liked the standard 3.x screen, as it was always too loud for my taste. The Conan Screen is my second favorite screen, next to the 1e Gamma World Referee Screen. If I was to play 3e D&D, I would use the Conan Screen - hell, I just use it was a cover screen for other less impressive screens!

It may sound like I'm ragging on the v.3.542 screen, but I find that screen to be vary useful. That is, you could use it as a mounting for print-out reference sheets, for a house-ruled/homebrewed system, or a system that has no GM screen available - like most inde made games. You could do that with the Conan screen, but you would not want leave paperclips marks on a nice screen!

Congrats David - I hang both the screen and the map up on my office wall when I'm not using it just so I can see the Quilliams art and view the map. 8)

Thinking of it, I never used any of the tables on the inner screen, even when I was running my games with the D20 system. Is it just me or the tables inside the screen are totally useless?

I really like the art, though I'd wish the screen was printed of thicker cardboard (like Dark Heresy or Anima screens).

I proudly admit that I used the Hero's Quest screen before getting this baby.

I plan on actually using the info inside the screen. I don't have such a good memory. :)

And yeah, absolutely thicker cardboard would've been nice. Something solid that can hang on its own without needing support.
