Asthetics-wise, it doesn't bother me - but I don't like it for another reason:cbrunish said:One note, the Turret Wing Fighter, Gyro Class has to be the worst looking ship I have ever seen!!!!!!!!!!
It's not a practical shipboard fighter. It's 33m in each dimension - as a 40-ton fighter, in order to put it on a ship, you're looking a launch tube that has to be at least 34m in diameter, plus storing these things in a hanger deck is going to take at least 120 tons each - really inefficient use of space.
That note that says it can only be launched from ships with Launch Tubes - it should really say that the the Gyro-class fighters are stored and launched externally, and therefore can only be used on ships with a non-streamlined dispersed structure - like a battle rider.
I'll use the design as drawn in my campaign - but they'll be system patrol fighters that dock with planetary orbital ports to exchange crew and take on fuel every 8 hours.
