Fighting Ships

One note, the Turret Wing Fighter, Gyro Class has to be the worst looking ship I have ever seen!!!!!!!!!!
Asthetics-wise, it doesn't bother me - but I don't like it for another reason:

It's not a practical shipboard fighter. It's 33m in each dimension - as a 40-ton fighter, in order to put it on a ship, you're looking a launch tube that has to be at least 34m in diameter, plus storing these things in a hanger deck is going to take at least 120 tons each - really inefficient use of space.

That note that says it can only be launched from ships with Launch Tubes - it should really say that the the Gyro-class fighters are stored and launched externally, and therefore can only be used on ships with a non-streamlined dispersed structure - like a battle rider.

I'll use the design as drawn in my campaign - but they'll be system patrol fighters that dock with planetary orbital ports to exchange crew and take on fuel every 8 hours.

There are beautiful cars, and then there are some ugly cars. And then there are Messerschmitt bubble cars built from converted surplus aircraft cockpits and fitted out with lawnmower engines. It stands to reason that you're going to get pretty, ugly and just plain weird-looking ship designs, too.

Not sure what category of the above the Gyro class fits in, though.
