Fighters in a campagin

I'm puzzled as to the options for using/deploying fighters in a campaign.

I presume if you buy separate wings of fighters then you can deploy them as normal. However what about the fighters that come with ships. Can you split them off into wings or are they always part of the ship?

When on your campaign roster the fighters will always be with their carrier or if purchased as wings with out a carrier they will be listed in the ir wings.

For Example this Minbari fleet from our current campaign - http://www.thecourtjestersstudio.com/campaign/minbari_fleet.html

He has quiet a few sinlge flights from seperate wings as well as a Morshin that currently has a full compliment of fighters (check out the Centauri fleet to see hoe we mark fighter loss on the roster.

But when it came to a game the Minbari player could take the 8 flights from the Morshin and use them as 4 wings of Nials for a game spending the required 4 patrol points to use them. The Morshin itself is not being used.

Does that apply only to ships with the Carrier trait? Or the Fleet Carrier trait? Can any ship with fighters detach its complement, combine it with other ships' complements and form wings for campaign play?

Page 99 of the rulebook:

"Any ship with the carrier trait may... ... ..."

Also you are not allowd to combine the fighters from 2 carriers into a wing if, for instance, you have odd numbers of flights or left over flights on your carriers after yo have organised them into wings.

What happens when you lose fighters from a ship. How do you replace them?

I presume you buy a wing but what happens if the ship doesn't hold that many?
