Fiery Class Gunned Escort

Coincidence. Just re-written this ship for the upcoming Drinax campaign set!
LOL...Great minds :) I'm hoping to use this in the upcoming Fifth Frontier War. On of the PCs brothers will be in command of her. She will of course be destroyed in front of the PC to put some fire in the blood :)

Check this out - it has deckplans and many of the ships characteristics. It's from a previous version of Traveller (MT), but should be sufficient for your needs.

Thanks Phavoc. I went hunting shortly after posting and learned a few things as well as finding the image you linked too. Pretty much what I need to nut her out once I get the new High Guard :)

Stats should be the same as the Gazelle, but fully streamlined.

Variants: The only major variant of the close escort is the gunned escort, a streamlined version with no other noticeable changes. This ship looks similar to the scout/courier, with only portions of the basic hull outline bulging above the plane surfaces. The gig nestles neatly beneath the ship. Finally, the L-Hyd tanks are not droppable, and the ship is restricted to ordinary performance.

Is it as pretty as this?

I did stat it for 1e. Original design based on the Tom Peters and Rob Caswell images. (strictly speaking if you base your new design image on that you might be walking on thin ground as they did it for DGP)

did some minor tweaks but It's close :D.

The Fiery was one the ships I have always liked the looks of.

Very nice WBNC, more curves.

One observation (and it's not a criticism) There is something strange in the image, it's like the perspective is off or something, causing the ship to look kind of skewed ? I've noticed it with most of your craft. It's not the model, its the view.
Which prog do you use BTW?

I use blender. And yeah in the default camera set up the view is a little strange. The way blender handle some angles and shadows is a bit odd

That is a great image middenface. I just love the way your art looks. :D

Tah.
I call it a hybrid of 3D and 2D art..

Actually the final version that was produced for MegaTraveller has a different weapons mix probably because in the LBBs a Barbettes can’t be streamlined. So to meet the requirements for streamlining it’s weapons consisted of two triple beam lasers turrets one triple missile turret and one dual fusion gun turret.

It's a streamlined Gazelle-class.
Same basic everything except that it no longer has drop tanks [all fuel tanks permanently installed] and performance is reduced to J-4 from J-5.

While it's still a ship-killer as a patrol vessel [policing, convoy protection, flag-showing], it's still the deathtrap it's always been in a fleet action. They're built to widen the reach of the Imperial Navy and spread the influence of Imperial commerce law out to systems that are off the mains, but CE classes should always be viewed as corsair/pirate-be-gone ships and not proper naval combatants. Even a squadron of them wouldn't deter a Zho or Solomani commerce raider 2000 tons or greater.

The Gazelle comes in different variants, with different weapon load-outs, e.g. S7:

TYPE CE CLOSE ESCORT
Code:
CE-13712 Gazelle CE-3455762-300000-500004-0 MCr353.19
Code:
CE-13768 Unicorn CE-3455762-300000-401000-0 MCr355.99

Neither the LBBs nor MT says anything about barbettes and streamlining, as far as I know.
