Fastest base speed I've seen is 16, Blue Star and some of the fighters have that.

Blue Star, APTE with 24" + 8" for a gas giant planet speed booster so possible 32"

Which is faster than any shadow ship could get.

Well, if you are in one of the aforementioned ships and you are faced with said Armageddon level ship, wouldn't you want to know how much faster than it you can go?

Would make a Blockade Run quite easy.

Base speed: Dilgar Thorun Dartfighter wins, speed 17. Fighters are ships too remember...
