Far Trader design in 2E?

So, in 2E the included design for the Jump 2 Far Trader seems to be just a tweaked Beowulf. Thoughts on that? It seems like They've thrown out a pretty classic ship design.

The explanation given was that the ship commonly thought of as the Far Trader, was just a variant. Which is entirely possible, as you should have expected seeing a Beowolf-class ship modified into a Far Trader type craft.

But I do side with you in that I think they short-changed fans with the combination as it was. It's not "the" Far Trader of yore, and it wasn't as if the deck plans or really good art of it doesn't exist.

It's not like people can't get the ship off the web or from a previous version.. .but people shouldn't have to do that either.

All planets have only 1972 Ford Pintos. Not the 1974 model.

This IS the classic 3I Far Trader.

Actually it is my stretched version but looks exactly the same.

I actually prefer it this way, the Beowulf hull having free and far trader configurations, and the (empress marava?) being a larger hull that both looks different and also combines the free and far trader roles in a single package (jump 2 and large cargo capacity).

Plus the A2 looks better stretched!
