Fancy doing a Centauri Republic fleet......

What do you guys think, is it possible? viable? Some examples of 5 point raid fleets would be nice from those that are in the 'Know'. :wink:

very possible

you can use the Primus/Secundus supported by Vorchans/Demos and also (since TLT) can add Kutais and Balvarins

So for 5 point raid, 1 Primus, 1 Balvarin 3 Vorchans and a Demos

or 1 Primus, 2 Kutais, 3 Vorchans and 2 Demos

As for a fleet? Well, the Demos and Vorchans are great and have been in the show. The Balvarin and Kuati were in The Lost Tales.

My fleet that I REALLY want to try out but haven't had the chance:

Centurian
Balvarin
2 Demos
2 Vorchan
2 Kuati

I still haven't had the chance to try this out and likely won't for a few weeks when I go home next (at out-of-state school).

The Primus is a tricky one to use now. The single damage, precise beam is a crit-fisher but not a ship killer in itself. The ion cannons are where your firepower is, but they're damn-near useless against a high-hull target.

I see the Primus as a traditonal battlecruiser, best used to punch below its own weight. Use it to pulverise smaller targets, raid level and below, and avoid larger targets. You need to get lucky to do real damage to high-hull targets with your ion cannons in my experience. It's better to let a Vorchan pack hit them with their SAP plasma accelerators.

Primus or Secundus depending on who you ask, either way the hull was in use so you can use either.

Only Sentri fighters were seen

Cool. Not to worried about the fighters, it's just the main ships I'm after. I'll use what ever fighter I deem fit :wink:

Of course, I may slip the odd 'non-show' ship in there if it fits a roll, but I'm pretty determined to be true tot he show with this fleet.

Right, I'm off to look at the ship stats and start planning. :lol:

At 5 raid:

Primus (2)
Balvarin (1)
Vorchan x2 (1)
Vorchan, Kutai x2 (1)

That gives you ten Sentri flights with a fleet carrier to support them, three Vorchans for some speedy firepower and a pair of Kutais to back them up and provide some init sinks. Not a bad little fleet and uses all the canon ships.

I prefer the 4AD of SAP, DD to the 6AD of P, DD, SL the Demos gets. Plus it's basically overpowered and I don't use overpowered units. So I stick to the Vorchan normally.
