Fallen, Fierce & Finest

I picked up these three books, and I must say, I like them. They're all three good expansion books for character classes.

To me, though, Fiercest stands out because it adds additional game information above and beyond the character classes it covers.

Fallen and Finest look to focus just on those character classes, but Fiercest not only focuses on its three classes, it also adds information on wilderness enounters and terrain--stuff that is useable in any campaign.

I would have liked to see this type of "extra" stuff in the other two books.

But, all three are worth the price.

It's all a matter of taste and the subject has been discussed many times on this forum. Personnally, the Hyboria's books are the ones I find the less useful of the whole range (Well, there's Tito's too...). Pages of multiclassing, lousy rules and feats. Naw, that's not for me! But you'll find numerous people around that rank these books among the best. As I said, it's all a mattter of taste...

I am glad you like them. At the time, I couldn't think of any extra rules I needed for my own campaign for the latter two books, so they don't have any. The extra rules in "Fiercest" were put in because of my need of such rules in my own campaigns.

As I stated above, I think the Fiercest book is most useful because of all the extra goodies associated with the Suvival skill, tracking, outdoor shelters, and the like.

For the Fallen book, I was hoping to see some expanded stuff for water enconters (Pirates). Maybe that's in the Pirate Isles sourcebook. I haven't picked that one up, yet.

You will love the Pirate Isles book. It greatly expands possiblilites for the Pirate class and indeed adds much to waterborn adventuring. Even some new spells. An excellent source book!!

I really like the 'Hybora;s" books. While I don't find my players have any interest in the muli-class concepts presented in them, I find them useful for creating memorable NPC's that don't fit the mold of the basic classes. I alsu like the nation-by-nation rundown and variations for each class. Again, some of my favorite Conan publicaions.
