FA Scale mins

Mongoose
Does anyone mix FA scale mins with ACTA scale mins in their fleet. I thought about doing it as it would allow me to pick more for my EA Early Years Fleet. I know that they are on different type of base, but I had the idea of cutting out a cirlce of cardboard the same size as the base and then glueing the FA type base to that to so it's on the right base size.
Just wondered what people felt about doing this?

an nice idea....already alone because of the relative importance.
an FA scale olympus next to an ACTA Omega looks far better then an ACTA Olympus

I thinK mongoose publishing does it to be honest. Off the top of my head. The new vorlon transport is the FA destroyer. The Vree patrolboat is the FA fighter model. And I'm pretty sure that the white star fighter is the FA whitestar model. Actually I'd be tempted to use them as white stars as the scale is just about what you see on the show.

The previous B5 licence holder produced B5Wars, which used the same miniatures as Mongoose uses. They later produced a simplified game called Fleet Action which would allow easier play with a greater number of ships. The produced smaller scale ships for this game, these were Fleet Action (FA) scale.

Many of them are still available from here: http://www.agentsofgaming.com/ofaea.htm

AOG delivery times are the main problem as it`s a 1 man op nowadays.

i know some people here got quite annoyed regarding that (there was one lad who posted here for a while about his aog order... never did find out if he got his and i can`t remember his name).

Ordered stuff off them 3x this year, it's never taken more than 3 weeks to arrive. There are plenty of bigger UK companies who are much slower to be honest.

But he is only selling old, leftover stock, isn´t he? At least that´s what I´ve heard. So there should be some gaps and/or problems with availability?

Some ships were never produced in FA scale (Hermes for example), some of the League stuff has sold old, there is plenty of ships that Mongoose have made themselves that will never be available in FA scale (Drakh for example).

IIRC Bruce Graw not only retained AoG's stock, he bought a large quantity back from distributors, hence how he manages to continue selling the stuff so many years later.
