We've spent a lot of time over the last few years writing about the EWF and the MSE and that's the first time that idea has been put forward! Although sometimes the God Learners are us moderns with our hubristically rationalist approach to trying to define the undefinable. :)

Not consciously I expect. Now tell me about your relationship with your father :P

Seriously if that analogy works for you, run with it. But be aware it will be wrong in certain key areas. Just like viewing the Lunar Empire as a Soviet Union analogy (or a Roman Empire analogy, or whatever) was useful in certain regards, and totally useless in other regards.

No, the Lunar empire symbolises new progressive ideas such as a modern powerful state, rights for women, etc impacting on small community, democratic, conservative, god fearing folk. That's the chaos part of Lunar thought in that at the heart of such ideas as political correctness there is the evil of "communism". While the lunars say its not really communism its rights for women (not chaos its power transformed)

What we are seeing is the agony inflicted upon the soul of small town America by a set of new ideas. Liberal democracy or rugged individualism, the tension is never resolved and is felt by the soul as a war. Greg's just expressing the inner feelings of an entire nation symbolically.

Or, of course the above is an entire load of bollox!
