EWF Pyramid scheme and enlightenemnt

Hi all,

Greg Stafford wrote a great piece in Different Worlds magazine about how dwarfs (dwarves) were pretty boring and not a great RQ subject for big supplements. In some ways, some people feel that way about elves, although I think they are barking up the wrong tree. Any cult that teaches Healing 6 is OK in my book. Greg has stayed away from encouraging loads to be written on Dragonewts because he wants them to remain a mysterious force that humans in the game don't understand. Sandy Petersen, as said in previous posts, was one of the main driving forces behind getting so much troll material published, which was so good that it has been reprinted several (some would say many) times. Trolls are fun to play because they are big, loud, (mostly (dumb), belligerent big guys great for adventuring (and Eating things).

I for one am saddened that so much of this Troll conversation has focused on eating, giving short shrift to all of the glorious drinking excesses of trolls, as immortalized by the likes of drinks called Powzie and Skullbuster. Drink or be gone!

PS: Shannon Appelcline has submitted his completed 128 page Heroquest book on Elves, hopefully to be in print before the end of 2007. A Heroquest Troll book is also in the works. Mostali, maybe next year...

Hope that helps,
Rick

I agree with this.

I agree with you about the troll stuff being great, but I feel that trolls are a lazy choice for roleplaying, very teenage boyish: overly agressive, rude, and boorish. I have read the stuff on complex troll psychology and it is great but how interesting can farting and burping be? (yes, yes, someone will say very.)

I did like them and they were funny
