Evading - multiple opponents and

When evading, a character cannot use a Combat Action to attack on their next strike rank (page 90-91)

Does this restriction apply if using evade to avoid multiple opponents (pg91) or closing or disengaing (pg 92-93), as these use the evade skill?

I don't think it does.

I would agree. The Evade that makes it so you can't attack next turn is one you take in desperation to avoid a specific attack. The two actions you mention are strategic positioning maneuvers not done in response to an attack.

That is correct. Strategic movement evading is not subject to the follow on penalty.
