Escort Idea

I have never liked the Escort Mechanic as it works, but do Like the general concept"

I would suggest that rather than trnasfer AF dice, to other ships and fighters (never liekd that idea...) that the range of teh Escorts AF be increased: so that rather than transefereing AF dice to a fight 8 Incehs away that can then project the AF dice another 2" (total of 10) but still not hittign that pesky thunderbolt 3" away: the escorts AF now have an 8" range overall.

Thei has the added benifit of permittign differentiation: For innstance Escort 6" could only have a 6" range etc...

I've suggested this before, but some people decided to shoot it down even if it was only to give a lesser range such as 6" to AF. I can't remember why they didn't like it off the top of my head though.

I don't know either... I have the same issues with AF/Escort as it is now... effectively 10 inches away, but not the middle distances.

I like this idea, actually. It'd have a nice knock-on effect on the Centauri's (delicious) Guardian Array.
