Entering from hyperspace

when a ship enters from hyperspace on to the table, the jumppoint will shift in a random direction as per the rules.

but does the forward arc of the jumpgate follow the random direction or just the location of the jumppoint?

i.e. if I am tyring to open a jump point behind an enemy fleet, with the forward arc facing the backof that enemey fleet. The random roll means my jump point moves 5 inches directly AWAY from the nemy fleet: is the forward arc of that jump point now facing away from that fleet, or is it still facing the fleet, but just 5 inches further away?

Hi there

We normally play that you place the counter and then roll for scatter with the arc remaining as is - the counter itself just moving.

Of course is most often used by those with Advanced Jump Engines who don't scatter and the Shadows - who don't care about such primative methods of travel :)

So in your example you would still be opening the jump point behind them but further away.
