I just want to make sure there was no change from my printing, is it still Str + End in Kg = unencumbered?

Yep, I have that, but I have a first printing and just wanted to make sure that had not changed! Thanks much!!

Hi gang,

How does encumbrance work with armor?

Take the HEV Vacc Suit (TL 8) which has a mass of 36kg. Even the strongest of humans (15 str + 15 end) would fall short with a total of 30 and be considered lightly encumbered (according to the encumbrance rules on pg. 104). Consequently, that person could only work in that suit for 15 minutes before becoming fatigued! Most other humans would have even more trouble.

I thought, perhaps, that the mass column in the armor table pertained only to carried armor, not worn armor, but then I see that special footnote for Battle Dress which makes me think otherwise.

Sorry if this has already been addressed. I did my searches but couldn't find an answer. Thanks for any help/advice you can give.

In an upcoming book, Traveller: Power Armour, I will be making a comprehensive list of which armour types add to encumbrance normally and which ones do not.

Basically, the rule of thumb is, if the armour has servoes to actuate movement it probably doesn't add to encumbrance - while powered. If it gets shut down though, you are officially a statue. :)
