An idea occured to me that with sufficient Spirit Magic in the Elric setting one could impart the 'Regeneration' Trait to someone. While this could, depending on the relative power level of the Spirit and thus the Regeneration Trait in question, be relatively fast healing... that would be something rather out of the spirit on the S&S tenor of the setting.
Another view on this that I think is much more interesting however is a much weaker version of this Trait, even off of a much weaker Spirit. A version of Regeneration that is much more limited in potency, more akin to that of a lizard that will 'with time' regrow a lost tail. Thus, with this kind of 'treatment' a character that was somehow maimed could be allowed to recover over a period of weeks or months, yet, the healing would not be potent enough to allow for combat effective recovery magic.
To really make things more flavorful the Sorcerer providing the Trait-Spirit could, in transfering the Fetish to the beneficiary, also give an assortment of rituals and propitiations to the Spirits that the beneficiary must do to keep the Spirits and the Sorcerer happy.
Imagine a Melnibonean Spirit Sorcerer doing this and making the warrior slave he is regrowing an arm for worship his Melnibonean Ancestors ( who conquered the slave's people and made them slaves... ) as part of the propitiations. ;P
Thoughts?
