Elric RPG - What is a "Priest-level benefit"?

Kamelion

On page 96, under the description of cult ranks, it notes that a warrior/sorcerer-priest is granted one "priest-level benefit". I can't find an explanation of what a "priest-level benefit" is. Am I missing something obvious here? What exactly would a priest-level benefit be? Many thanks!

Bugger - thought we'd trapped all the typos and errors!

Well spotted, Kam.

It should read: One Priest Level benefit is granted - the teaching of a Cult rune.

However, as runes were extracted from the core rules, and will appear in the Magic Book, that whole sentence should've been chopped.

I think that, for now, and until the Magic Book appears, you should give Priests a free Advanced skill, pertinent to the cult, at its starting value.

The book 'Cults of the Young Kingdoms' (no, haven't started it yet - later this year) will expand on all the cults, and provide new ones, and will go into more detail on the such things.

But apologies! It should've been expunged.

Loz,

Do you see cults functioning differently in the Young Kingdoms compared to Melnibone? For example, the relationship with the Lords of Chaos in Elric's time in Melnibone suggest a difference in how the lords of Chaos are venerated compared to say, Pan Tang.

And speaking of errata, what are Elric and Yyrkoon's skill ratings with a greatsword if they're not using the runeswords?

The difference in Melnibonean worship is being covered in some depth by 'Bright Shadows'. Charles Green can give more of an idea, but yes, there are differences.

On Elric and Yyrkoon's combat skills with mundane swords, Elric has 1H and 2H Sword at 120%, Yyrkoon the same at 118%. Both are master swordsmen.
