Galatea,
What was the name of the Tamiya Naval Detail Sprue that you used? And what scale was it?

The closest I could find was a box of 1/700 scale Heavy Vessel Ordnance.

Is this what you used?
Thanks, Konnoc

I do not exactly know. The sprues were in all the packages of the 1/700 Japanese WW2 Fleet warship model line (like the Yamato/Musashi, Zuikaku, Akagi Carrier and the smaller escort vessels).
But they are all more than five years old (at least) so I don't know if exactly these sprues are still available.

Hey,
thanks for getting back to me on that.... I'm not sure if I saw anything like a detail sprue on the Tamiya sites, but the 1/700 scale is a good place to start... Time to see what I can find.

Greg, that was the reference pic I used to make my first CTA model last weekend.

Galatea, great work on your mods. :D I've made good use of 1/700 weapons in my past for space models. Over 20 years ago I kit-bashed an SFB Klingon starbase. I used the windshield from a Darth Vader Tie fighter model for the core shape and 1/700 dual 5" turrets (without barrels) as the six ship bays.

Now THAT, I wanna see!

@ Galatea: I like your version of the Marathon. Although I would have kept the dorsal missile rack... What did you use for the launch bay? It fits the model really nicely :D

Alright. The D5 cruiser is supposed to fit into one of the pod bays, much like the Fed base.

We now return you to Galatea's thread.

The Marathon doesn't have a dorsal Missile Rack. The Missile Launchers are those boxy things mounted left and right of the lower prow.
The Launch Bays were made from a 1/700 WW2 cruiser's chimney.

Hi Galatea nicely done :)
But if you want feedback i have to say, the backside of the Victory looks a little like a Sandworm from Dune ;)...
Lol, indeed it does. But I checked in the series, it appearently has these "rear basins".

And the upper box thingy is a...? Customizable mission pod?
*rofl*

I think it's just the bridge.
Or maybe it's the fighter launch bay since the standard Marathon doesn't have the typical EA one at the prow.
