Droyne Character Creation

Just wondering if anyone knows if there are any rules out there for Droyne for MgT, or do you need to make it work using the old Alien Module?

I have my droyne module for Basic Traveller (1985) which works for MgT. Still want to see how the new version goes as I have several of the MgT Alien modules and like their styles.

About what I was thinking since they are very simillar and can be converted quickly. Need to work on the service skills some since some double up or give stats but I really enjoy MgT life events and that is the main thing I want.

Oh but my group is looking to do is do a Zhodani campaign where we have go towards Chtierabl Sector kind of what happens in the adventure in the Zhodani Alien Module. But since most people in the group started in MT or later only the GM and I played in CT. But since I am the one with the Droyne AM I figured to ask the question.

Yeah, not too in depth in the Core book about droyne other than their characteristic stats. Droyne are tight knit group both small and large and any group has member that highly specialize in a particular skill set to aid the group's functions. A Worker would take Citizen(Worker) exclusively. A Warrior focuses on Star Marine or Ground Assault depending on what environment they are assigned lifelong. Drones are Citizen (Corporate). Technician would be Scholar specializing in only one of the three assignments. Leaders would be Nobility(Administrator). Sports are the odd ball and can take, but still specialize, in a variety of career choices depending on the needs of the overall society.

If you have a player group of characters, each will play a very specialized role for the whole and probably be the best and most experienced. The most basic group unit is the tyrafelm of six droyne that consist of either a mix of each caste or are specialized in function. Larger groups are multiples of the basic family unit. There would also be NPC droynes filling roles too and looking up to the player for purpose and direction. A starship would be considered an extended family unit of several tyrafelm possibly divided by position, Engineering, Bridge, Gunnery, Troopers, etc.. Remember though, it is a strict caste system. The Leader droyne is the leader and overall decision maker.

Everyone correct, clarify or expand my interpretation.

It is possible for a Droyne to be recast changing their roll.

PC Droyne's could be those that have decided not to end but continue after their usefulness to the cast is over.

I was keeping it simple and yes I know all that other stuff but until the sourcebook comes out, one either finds a copy of the older module or guess something close just to be able to play right now.

Lucky for my group I do have the CT Droyne book and it is very easy to convert, so easy I was actually surprised. Only quick difference I really noticed are no life events or mishap tables, and no granted skills for rank but that can easily be fixed.

But since we are all Zhodani but for one Droyne Sport this will not be a factor and we can be off and playing.

While I am thinking of it forgot to add just some basic info who we are and what the campaign is, and why a Droyne would hang out with some Zhodani. First of all the Character, I am a Noble and a Guards Commando, there is a Member of the Thought Police, an Intendant who is a Government Admin and aide to the Patron who is a Soc F Noble, the Droyne Sport who is the curious explorer type, there is a Old Prole Army grunt who has about 6 terms, and a Scholar who is also an Intendant. Well if you have ever read the CT Zodani book there is a Campaign where the Soc F Noble saw the PC's fighting, well our GM has changed it to a group of Zho's discovering and fighting over something important.

Nice thing is CT and MgT are so compatible. I also want to see what life event tables will look like for the droyne.

"A" Droyne is unlikely to unless he's a Sport on a long-term assignment, or is a Deathless. The Deathless are a blank book as far as motivations, no longer have an Tyafelm to return to, and can have latched onto just about anything to motivate themselves past The Death.

I though there was, either in the Droyne or Zhodani source book, mention that the Zhodani saw the psionic potential in Droyne so there's a bit more bond between the races.

The Zhodani are fascinated and somewhat cautious of full Droyne, who outdo them in the psionics department.

Droyne reactions vary, IMO, from cautious welcome to that feeling you get when you realize you have not just one stalker, but entire planets of them.

Sorry about that but we have decided why he is coming with us, I guess it just did translate that well to a forum. The Droyne in question is curious Sport of the explorer subcast, who will most likely adopt us as his family. Thing is not all of us fit nicely into his idea of the caste system since some of us can fit into more than one. Should make for some good RP and I look forward to see how it works, should be fun.
