Drinax Treasure Ship question

I’m hoping someone can hopefully clarify something about the Treasure Ships fault that strands it on Arunisiir. Does the jump drive fault force it out of jump early bringing it to Arunisiir less than a week into its trip or did the fault just misfire the jump drive so that it’s destination is different as it exits the jump? If the ship has already jumped then it’s destination has already been set, yes?

The ship was in the last minutes of jumping from Arunisiir to Tech-World when the Jump plot was altered. The safety interlocks were opened to prevent the Jump from happening (which it did, the ship never left the Arunisiir system.) the engineering section then blew up and damaged the Jump drive. The captain then limits the Jumps to Jump 2 and thus the slower route. (pg 52 and page 66 of book 1)
