Dredd Vs. Aliens? - PIX ADDED

First contact in the ruins of Jimmie Cameron Block. I got to take the first Alien out for a test drive against my Roommates Gang; The Communist Bloc. It should be noted that I had one Alien with a total Gang Rep. of 11 Vs. The Communist Bloc, 7 guys and 31 Rep. I ran around for 3 turns until I had a good attack point on one of the Commie punks. He moved in and shot with a D.B. Stump gun. Totally s#$t – the - bed rolling and was then removed from the table with a tail spike hole thru his guts! (Serious Injury to the Body.) At this point I should have slunk back to hide and charge next turn (Movement 8 Rules!!!) but I was so crazed with bloodlust I ran right in for the big kill. I figured the Commies would roll badly and I'd eat 'em all in the following turn. Wrong. Lieutenant that’s a weapons expert with a Phut Rifle coupled with A.P. shells manages to graze the Alien causing one hit. Boss with Heroic Rush and 2 Spit Pistols saves the day. Jamming one in the first turn of shooting he still managed to cause 1 more wound. And sows it all up with one more. The Alien takes a Minor Injury and it's over. The horror has finally ceased. I loved it. Tense game of cat and mouse...can't wait 'till I get to use my Gang against them...loads of fun!!! I did think of a couple of things thou:

1. Contacts? I would say No for an Alien Gang.
2. Aliens Vs. Mutants? If an Alien Gang captures a Mutant can they sprout a new Alien with the Mutation instead of a Trait? I would say Yes...'cause it could be pretty crazy!!!

Any thoughts?

And what sort of Battle Report would it be without a couple of pix? So, here they are...

where can you get them and what did u use to clean em up so u can paint em???

The Aliens are Horrorclix. I removed them from the hurting clix bases with a pair of hobby snips. (If you grab the foot and slowley twist side to side with the clippers they should come off the bases.) Next, glue them to some non-hurting bases. (I like the ones that I used 'cause I make 'em and sell 'em.) Go get some cheap spray paint (Black.) Spray and paint. :D

I used: Custom Alien mix paint undercoat. (Black/Purple paint with a dab of Future Floor Wax.) Formula P3 Ironhull Grey heavy drybrush, Game Color Stonewall Grey highlight. And then I dunked 'em in my Custom Alien Wash (Black/Purple/Blue inks and F.F.W. with a bit of water to thin it out.) Shake and let dry. Then use some Greys and Silvers to do the bases. I knocked these babies out in about 6 hours...start to finish. Easy and so fun to play with!!! :D

Actually, yeah - I'd thought the same myself:

"Parasitic: Any host(age) taken by a xenomorph gang after a battle may be kept indefinitely to hatch another Xenomorph prior to battle – this xenomorph may retain one trait or ability from the host (This will make Top Dogs and Lieutenant particularly attractive to them). A Hostage Rescue challenge will allow a rival gang to prevent this by killing the hostage themselves. Hostages may be used for no other purpose. "

'Ability' should perhaps say 'mutation' instead, otherwise someone could hatch an alien with 'Jimping'. Mind you, that would preclude pyrokinetic alien offsrping (shame!).

And contacts would be hard to justify, I think, yeah.

Sounds like he worked out about right. Pretty viscious.. hmm.. must try one out too.

And the pics are great.

Aliens Vs. Robots. No pix for this one as the camera was dead. Aliens; 2 Aliens Rep. 22. Vs. Electric Mayhem; 9 bots Rep. 39. The Aliens made a strong start, causing a Rogue bot to detonate and taking a wound in the process and then charging a Chainsaw wielding bot. Loosing the combat and it's remaining two hits but acid spraying the bot into oblivion. The last Alien runs in to exact bloody revenge and gets mowed down in a hail of Spit Gun (with A.P.Bullets) fire. End result: one dead Alien, one with Serious Injury to the arm. Still, one more grows at the end of the game...

Aliens ordered ... found they have preditors as well ....

Game 3. Aliens Vs. Undercity. The Aliens were Rep. 23 with 1 model (and one out with an Injury.) The C.H.U.D. 14 guys and Rep. 28. Since there was only one Alien I pretty much waited for him to come to me...moving all (2) of my shooters to good vantage points and spreading out my Juves in a loose frontal formation to stall the creature. Not that it mattered much, the beast came thru a hole in my defences and attacked one of my Chainsaw wielding loonies. One action was all I needed! All 3 hits removed from the Alien...no dammage from acid spray...Game Over. I think that if you started an Alien Gang out with everyone else they would do quite well. Most of our House League Gangs are quite powerful and seem to overcompensate for how killie it's going to be. Still, there is one more after every game...

Looking awesome like!
Saw these at a show recently (the horrorclix naff) and thought they looked okay.
Realised they were clicky and got depressed. If rules can be made to use them in the JD universe, I will be happy. :D

I'll be putting together some of those Predators to face off against UMW's Aliens. This weekend I will pick them up, just need some more sci-fi UMW bases.

Are these alien figures the floppy kind of plastic used for the Battletech games, or is it a little more rigid? The alien sets have dropped to £11.50 in shops near me now, so I'm probably going to pick up two boxes and rebase and paint them in a few days.

Floppy. Still, they are easy to pose that way. And for the price it's a pretty good deal. Also, the sculpts are really good.

I picked up a bunch today. I'm going to clip them from the bases tonight and mount them on slotta's, and then prime them ready for my own paintjob. They are pretty floppy, especially the tails, but I guess I just won't be as nervous about dropping them! Is there any chance of the paint flaking, though?

Well, that's perfect then. I'll begin immediately! I also recently acquired a copy of the Leading Edge Aliens boardgame, with expansion, so it's like a double bonus!

The aliens are now rebased, and ready for priming so I can paint them my own colour scheme. They are pretty floppy, but I've compensated for that where I can in gluing hands and tails to bases.

Last stand... An SJS judge joins forces with a Predator in a futile attempt to repel the alien attack..

Size-wise, these things look perfect. The Copplestone predators are just about right in comparison to the judge, and the alien looks fine next to both.

Of course, the dodgy positioning of the feet on the 30mm Horrorclix bases had to be compensated somehow... so this is how I did it.

Aliens are now painted and drybrushed. I used no other colours, just black with a white drybrush. They look much better.
