I guess the answer would be adventurer ships. I had to go back and read your post.
Thank you for replying. The players are tooling around in a 'enigma' far trader 200 ton ship, non standard drives and weapons (what else do you expect). The period is tech 10-11 and it is being played in a Pre-alien pocket verse.
I would like to do some heroic table battles with that ship (2 hard points), jump/thrust 2 probably a single laser and a missile launcher against some planetary ships.
I suspect the ship will be upgraded to a double laser or triple laser in a turret, with some spiffy evade drive, if its possible. I usually dont play well with in the rules, so it may seem like im stuffing 80lbs of stuff in a 50lb bag. This alien ship of theirs is also meant to take on a 400 ton fat trader and win by a nose.
I hope to have them upgrade to a larger ship (escort or corsair) with the alien modifications, but it depends if they can pull the drive out of the other alien ship or not.
