Distributed and Dispersed Structure question

Mongoose
Hello all,

Does the distributed hull configuration in the design rules for non-capital ships and small craft equal the dispersed structure configuration for capital ship design?

I think the answer is yes, but I want to be sure.

You can make that assumption safely. They're both big open framework ships with living quarters, modules and drives bolted on like decorations on a Christmas tree.

Hello Alex_Greene,

Thank you for the reply and confirming that my interpretation of distributed being equal to dispersed is probably correct. I just hope that the bolts are better than some of the material that held the decorations on my Christmas tree. ;-).

Such vessels tend to be used as the frameworks for battle riders - vessels which carry non-jump capable battleships into hot zones, drop them off and then jump the hell out fast.

It's theoretically possible to build a really huge ship, really cheaply, fit it out with minimal armaments and a large jump drive, and plenty of space for squadrons of 10,000 dton and 20,000 battlecruisers.

Hello again Alex_Greene,

I've used the "dispresed" strucutre as the basis for an anitmatter refinery. Unfortunately, both the hard drive and the backup copy I had both failed which means I don't have a copy of the design. Someday I'll try and recreate the design.

Looking back I think that hard drive and disc failed the day that the group I was with had to scuttle the refinery to prevent capture from hostile forces. Reminder don't blow the refinery up until a hard copy is made of the design.;-)

On one hand I like how Mongoose condensed the configuration in the core rule book and HG small Craft, but I wished they would have either used the same classifications in all three design sequences.

Again thank you for replying to my post.
