Discounted Corrected Novels?

Would you purchase "corrected" books if Mongoose offered them at a discounted rate?

  • Never. They should've been error free from the beginning!

Mongoose
Hi Mongoose-

I am a collector's edition subscriber and really enjoying returning to the world of lone wolf. I found them when I had a hand injury in 1986, and this winter enjoyed playing them all over again with my new hand injury, lol.

I have noticed the errors and misprints here and there, and was wondering if Mongoose would be offering corrected versions of all the novels once the printing is done. Perhaps at a vast discount to the Collector's subscribers? It would be a nice gesture to those of us that jumped in with both feet at the beginning of all of this. And for us, it would be nice to have error-free novels without having to repurchase them at full cost. Please consider it!

Thanks again for bringing Lone Wolf back to life!

Meh, Mongoose has already been replacing FOR FREE the defective books if a corrected version was available (like for books 3 and 8 ) to those who have received the bad ones. If there are books they should sell at a discount price they are the ones with errors.

Of course, it all depends of each of us and what we consider errors that absolutely needs to be corrected in a new edition.

Not always - the first US printings for book 3 had section 192 missing and I was told mine would not be replaced (though Mongoose had sent replacement copies out in response to other problems). Issues like the missing equipment sections (book 4) or improved disciplines (book 7) did not qualify for replacement either.

I think everybody with a defective copy received a new book 3 for free because of the missing section. I think you should ask again for one.

Oh, and I know that some book weren't replaced even if they had some errors in them. But then it all depends if you consider these errors as minor mistakes or big tragedies. For me, the missing equipment section and improved disciplines are not tragedies but I can understand that some people think they are. However, I think we can all agree that having missing sections in book 3 and 8 are catastrophic errors. :?

I DID receive an extra copy of Book 3, but it was STILL missing section 192...only difference being that it was using the new kind of 'curved' binding. Subsequently I did receive that bookmark with section 192 printed on it and errata for other books (the problem with equipment section I believe).

I know there have been many little issues with the first few books, but right now I'm just plain sick and tired of chasing them down (especially with what that happened with book 3, they managed to give me an extra copy that didn't address the reason why the extra copy had to be sent out in first place!), and I'm looking at Books 1-4 with the old 'straight' binding, subsequent books (and the extra Book 3) with the new binding....they are certainly readable, but I expected better for collector's editions..

Maybe (just maybe) some day I will try to get books 1 and 4 replaced with the new binding, and as collector's copies

Edit: I also received 2 copies of Book 8, if this was a replacement, I have yet to find out the reason for it (like I said I'm no longer keeping up with these hiccups anymore)

Last two sections of the bonus adventure are missing in one of them.
