Dilgar Campaign Weekend - Proposed

At Da Boss's request an new thread for the proposed "Dilgar War Camapign Weekend" as his Dilgar War Supplement thread.

Could all conversations re the proposed weekend be discussed here.

I could do a one dayer no problem, but a 2 day camapign is perhaps too much for me to consider sadly. if it wasn't s darn far away :-(

Similar to my post on the previous thread, we first need to sort out what day(s) could be accomodated by young Mr.Lister...

Also, if a two day event is going to be the reason most people can't make it, could this event be condensed into a longer 1 day venture?

It is highly unlikely I can do anything before September.

My thought for the event would be:

1 day event
Simplified format that is a series of linked games that follow a pryamid structure to see if the Dilgar or the Earth/League Alliance wins.

first few games are small and restricted to 2230-31 ships
then larger game culminating in a couple of multiplayer games.

ok, I bagsie Hyach.
was just thinking, to make it more interesting and keep the racies varied, maybe 1 player per league race or maybe two for the bigger league races, a couple EA and then 7/8 for dilgar (dependant upon overall numbers) each player represents a general or warleader of his people (except us poor hyach didn't get a warleader character :-( )

Yes, depending on numbers, the players should be split something like

50% Dilgar (Obviously)
20% EA
30% mixed League fleets

Judging by response and the usual suspects that come to the majority of tourneys, we should have at least a dozen players...
Kettering Crew can muster 6 quite easily.
Neil, Burger, Digger as reps from the Rabbits.
Shane, Andy and possibly one or two more from the Walsall Warlords
Throw in your good self Hiff and possibly young Mr Lomas and your heading towards 15 or 16 bods...

maybe we should arrange a pre tourney weekend day at Charle's and I'll travel up.
we could put our heads together and see if we can come up with a one day campaign rather than just a tourney format
otherwise it'll be a bit of a risk not playtesting it out before we have 12-16 peeps around waiting for instruction...

I will certainly be up for playing - I have a large number of Dilgar ships!

Dilgar for Digger Please!

I would be up for League in the early games and then EA in the later games.

The idea we had was to adapt a pryamid scenario structure which worked very well in a quick previous campaign Greg ran. Dependent on who win's which round depends on the next scenario. Also making each game a snapshot in the timeline of the Dilgar War with ISD's and various fleets allowed. Just to give that "Story" feeling.

The last game being a good multi player affair :D.
