Hello, this is my first message in this forum, i'm an avid fan of Conan rpg besides owing a complete collection of all the marvel comics published about our cimmerian hero..

I would like to ask if anyone here ever read this book:

The Hyborian Heresies is very good, I can highly recommend it. Parts of the book are available for free here and here, so you can look at those to see if it's up your alley. I do recommend that you buy the book, though, it should be on every Conan scholar's shelf!

The guy who wrote it, Dale Rippke, frequents these forums under the name Darkstorm. He has also written some essays about the mapping of the Hyborian age which I think are great. Here are the links: The City of Thieves, To the Styx and Beyond and The Blue East (Those are not part of the book you asked about, though.)

It is definitely worth the purchase and belongs on any serious Howard/Conan fan's bookshelf, IMHO.

Mr Rippke is a respected Hyborian scholar. Heresies is worth the read. I don't agree with everything he wrote, but they are a lot of interesting things in his articles.

Trodax gave the links to the free parts of his book that you can find on the web. Read them to make your own opinion.

In this thread Mr Rippke updated or altered several of his former theories.

Roughly: "I'm never alone with my loneliness/aloneness/solitude."

"solitude" in French encompass those three words.
