Not a misprint. I wrote it... I like the effect, personally, and it makes sense given they way I see plasma weapons. If you do not like it, feel free to ignore it. Like any and all rules that do not suit your game or your style of play.

While lasers are not AP weapons, some may see them that way. If so, feel free.

I'd argue that many of the weapons in the game are incredibly powerful (18 dice, and x5 armor piercing? Really?) and that seems to be a trend of realism that's woven through many games and game systems today. If you don't like Destructive, you might want to hide your eyes if anyone tries to get you to have a look at the missile rules in the GURPS:Spaceships rules. Talk about glass cannons!
