Defensive suite of spells

So, for those sorceror's out there, you've undoubtedly spotted that in 1 combat action you can cast your Manipulation/10 (so 3-7 usually) in spells upon yourself (or anyone you can touch). Which is awfully handy for putting up a defensive suite of spells, armouring you up with Damage resistance and giving you spell resistance, spirit resistance, castback and all sorts of other good stuff to help you survive the battle.

What are youre defensive suites which you quick cast in one action which makes the GM (and rest of the party) cry?

My players are yet to get the knack for this.

We had an amusing case where one of the party's sorcerors cast a spell resistance on everyone in the party. Great they thought. Then the Humakt warrior suffered a hit with the Bleed manoeuvre. So, he was bleeding, weakening and none of his heal spells could work (or anyone elses) and the sorceror regused to drop the spell (not wishing to expose himself to magical attack. I laughed (an evil GM laugh of course   )

As a solution, I though that any combined defensive spells should also include Treat Injury. In that case, as the spell had already taken effect, the sorceror could just concentrate for a few rounds in the battle to heal any injured character (presuming no instant serious or major wounds). The PCs would be safe behind their defensive magics and have the benefits of magical healing.

My ideal combination of defensive spells is: Spell and / or Spirit resistance, damage resistance, mystic vision (allows everyone to see magical and spiritual threats approaching the party and assess the defensive magics of opponenets), treat injury (as above).

Well, that depends on what you get in your Grimoire. If you just have one Grimoire then it will probably only have a couple of defensive spells, but there's no reason why an order can't have access to more than one, so there might be dedicated defensive grimoires out there.

I've noticed that the Jrusteli books in the Glorantha MRB are all fairly defensive in nature- the True Malkioni Church particulalry. Learning that and some allied cults Grimoires should cover you if you play Glorantha.

So most sorcerous orders have access to several grimoires? I guess that makes sense, but you probably have to be Adept level to get access.
