Someone order a Fat Boy? Snapshot flavour?

Excellent once again. Nice old Traveller look while still giving details of what's in the rooms.

Thanks!, though I just realised I need to fit or have the 20 ton launch on the plans... bit space top rear or go with the docking method like the CT version.
I think the lift should move back some more too.

Note fitting the ship with docking claps requires extra tonnage and will take away a little from the cargo space as compared to internal docking.

It was always my impression that the Fat Trader was ship with the lower deck being 6m high and the upper deck being 3m, for a total of 9+meters in height.

That way the deckplans for the cargo deck, being 6m high, represented the full 200+ tons of cargo. I had assumed that the large difference in upper to lower deck plan area for this ship represented the aft "nook" housing the launch and that there should be an airlock facing aft (on the upper deckl) to allow passenger access to this launch.

If not, then the plans in the MGT core book are a bit wonky...

Another nice one!

Noticed the Main Cargo Bay is an extra 1.5 m longer than the MGT plans (so the top doesn't line up well)... and, as Fedmahn Kassad stated, the cargo level needs to be 6 m high.

Very good likeness of the MGT original - just needs the Main Cargo Bay side doors and the little parallel lines on the turrets (oh and an apostrophe for Ship's Locker). And, the beds are facing the wrong way. Talk about small nitpicks! ;)

I also noticed that the cigarette butt smouldering in the ashtray in cabin 5 has the wrong brand markings! The Cartouche brand of Vilani smokeswere NEVER offered in king-sized varient, and used a red stripe, not gold...

Son, I am dissapoint

That was me! Thanks so much, this is great. My PCs will just love all the wonderful boarding actions this will allow. Actually wait, *I'll* love them, they'll hate you forever.

Heres the thing, the book (I've the LBB version) says 6 meters for the cargo decks, the Downloadable PDFs say 3 meters... I've got the original LBB: traders and gun boats - its seems 3 meters is the deck to ceiling height... bear in mind 2.5 meters is the standard celing to deck height (.5m is eaten by conduits etc..) 6 would work fine... to be honest I'm sticking with the MGT pdfs but I will alter anything that really does not work..

The launch issue it well up for debate, the original had it piggy back riding the Trader, theres an iris valve in the ceiling, and in the MGT theres a ceiling mounted iris... so it rides on top. Theres a spare ton for the clamp so no worries there. The design allows for 20t of launch, so adding a hanger to the top deck is possible too.

Second issue is the length of the top deck vs the bottom deck. I can see its short due to the curve of the front hull - nose area. But I think its too short, I'll finish this plan as the MGT then create a version of how I think it should be. The extra space can be fuel tankage.

Apologies I missed the side doors, inexcusable and well its a hair shirt and self flagellation for me! The rear door is messed up because I shifted lift forward..

Next that other scout...

Just a single ton. I think theres a spare ton or two in the plans. Either that or the captain looses the drink cabinet...

Yep - the MGT 'Replacement Deck Plans' PDF is off ;) - it is short 100+ tons of cargo space! The Core book (reprint?) plans had it correct - the cargo deck is 6m high - the engineering spaces are not! (Otherwise they end up double their tonnage.)

BTW: Your Main Cargo Bay (towards the Aft) doesn't match either MGT plan - it has one too many squares ;) (and thus the hatches don't line up).

All-in-all, its great though!

There's lots of spare tons if you make the cargo deck only 3 metres high instead of 6...

Sweet!

P.S. - any more 3D versions?

Oh very nice! - you posted the ortho layered view while I was writing this.

Given the MGT illustration, maybe the engineering/wing sections should be a separate layer between the cargo decking and upper decks (implying a small ladder/foot recesses outside the engineering access hatches)!

(Of course, from the illustration, the main body of the ship is cylindrical - and the deck plans do not even come close to matching that - but this is the case with most of the MGT deck plans!)

In the GDW Classic Traveller deckplans the ceiling is 6m, but that is only apparent if you look at the front view of the ship at the top of the cargo deckplan.

The front view image shows the cargo doors taking up 2/3 of the height of the ship, leaving only 1/3 for the bridge deck.

There was discussion around this way back on the Traveller Mailing List and I believe Loren Wiseman said it was double height (6m) tall...
