I have a birthday coming up and put Monster Coliseum on my gift list...

Then of course I had to qualify it and say I wanted Monster Coliseum for RuneQuest, not Yu-Gi-Oh.

---No, not that Monster Coliseum for Runequest. Not the one for RuneQuest III from 1985, I mean for RuneQuest II. No, not the RuneQuest II from 1980... the new RuneQuest II. From Mongoose Publishing. From 2010.

(This is worse than talking to people about the Star Wars saga. "You know, in the second movie? --You mean Episode V?")

My poor FLGS has been having problems with orders...they keep getting older edition books in instead of the newer editions. I think he straightened out the distributor, at last, but I am now waiting...fingers crossed....hoping Arms & Equipment shows up at last for RQII.

It can cause confusion, having played from RQI—I catch myself out sometimes.

One of the problems is that (due to the basic underlying system being familiarly related) ideas can be ported still from the old RQ books to the modern MRQII... and people still refer to RQII now and then.

Looking about, it does however seem that the general consensus is that the new game is called "MRQII".
