Cults of Glorantha

Mongoose
So, the last day of July is here, and Orc's Nest didn't have Cults of Glorantha in, and it's still "Preorder now" on the Mongoose website. Will it still have a shipping date of July 2010 on the website tomorrow (1st August)?

Kyger Litor is in Races of Glorantha vol 1. It appears all the nonhuman cults will be included in their associated Race book.

The RQ institution is to stick a write-up of Kyger Litor into every book, regardless of how tangental the reference.

Sadly a fine (but weird) tradition now broken after 30+ years.

It's a sad, sad, day for RQ fans when such a fine tradition finally comes to an end.

Maybe we can find a new, equally bizarre tradition to replace it.

Kyger Litor or not, CoG is not listed anymore under Runequest Upcomming releases, nor is it under Current releases. It can be found on a search though. Under Upcomming releases there is a new AaE in Nov 2010 ?!

Hmm, It's not a real cults book then is it?

Clearly not. But it is a book (it has pages, words on the pages and a set of covers; it also has chapters, a contents page and an index) and it has cults (lots of cults. Lots of very detailed cults. Lots of new cults. Also very detailed). And as someone else pointed out, KL is covered in 'Races of Glorantha' which is arguably where it belongs.

So perhaps 'Races' is really a cults book and 'Cults of Glorantha' is something else entirely; but it is a book. With cults in.

Does the contents page have page numbers? Because that's the most very annoying thing about Races of Glorantha - it's impossible to find anything other than by flicking through the pages and hoping to stumble across it. Unless I've missed something. I'll take another look tonight and see if I've just been doing it the hard way in order that I would have something to moan about. Which is entirely possible.

I've got it!

The new Kyger Litor for the Mongoose generation is...

The Draconic Illumination skill!

The world book has it, with incomplete disussion (prerequisites?), the first races book has it, and I beleive the Cults book has it, including prerequisites.

Whaddya think, Matt and Loz, will you find a way to put the Draconic Illumination skill into every gloranthan product?

Works for me. The one place that won't have it will be the 'EWF Bumper Book of Fun' because, y'know, that would be wrong...

Now, if I can also work Draconic Illumination into Kyger Litor, then we're really onto something.

Now that we've drifted into those realms, is regular Nysalorian Illumination written up anywhere for MRQ, or is that out of fashion in the Second Age? Does it get lost and re-discovered after the MSE/EWF stuff blows over?

Oh its still around, but I didn't have room for Nysalor in the book and, besides, the old way of treating it isn't, I think, a satisfactory way of doing it (we had a long discussion about this at Continuum and the consensus was that another less... artificial way of representing Illiumination is needed). So, it will be treated - and properly - but space precluded it, as it did so many other cults I would have liked to include.

And, BTW, CoG is back from the printer. My copy arrived this afternoon. :D
