C'Tech Adventure in #55

Very kind of you to say so. :D

I have asked Charlie if she would like me to write a follow-up and she has given me the thumbs up. Hopefully, that'll make it into print in a couple of months time.

Just some play-testing with the Wedneday night guys first...you know who you are!

I think most peeps just call it C'Tech LBH.

@alphastrike: If you ever want another player in on your C'Tech group I don't mind travelling to berks for a session.

I've moved form Bracknell since I joined the forums - now up in Worcester I'm afraid.

Though I see you're in Pompy - I lived in Southsea for 11 years. It's where I first encountered that role we call play. Happy days. :D

Oh, and we're totally gonna win the F.A. Cup!

And where did you come up with the name Alphastrike?

....................See you next Wednesday.

I nabbed the the name AlphaStrike after I won a Starship Troopers Tournament at Mongoose Towers a few years back.

The tournament was called Alpha Strike. :)

AlphaStrike - I mentioned in the Issue 55 thread how much I loved the C'Tech adventure. Both the write-up and the layout were excellent. I'm really looking forward to running the adventure as soon as I can get the C'tech rulebook. Your adventure really helped me see the roleplaying potential with C'Tech. Thanks for such a great adventure and I look forward to more!

More I say!

Cool :D

The thing that attracted me to the game was its diversity. There's such a range of adventure types that you can run with the system - sci-fi, horror, investigation, magic, war, and so on.

I've played and enjoyed regular Cthulhu but it can get a bit 'samey'. Plus, the appearance of any supernatural beasty means run or die. If one shows up in Cthulhutech that might still be a wise option, but there's also 'Some one hand me a high-explosive grenade, please' or (as someone in my group did just last week) 'I'm being chased by a spawn and I'd like to call in an airstrike'.

A better idea than a few weeks before when my way of dealing with the sight of something horrible and supernatural was to faint inside the Prowler because our civilian passenger turned out to be a Dohanoid. Whereas somebody else's reaction to the same situation was to open fire with his big mech guns into the interior of the Prowler hoping to hit the Dohanoid regardless of the fact that I was inside, slumped unconscious right next to it.

His excuse? 'My character has the impetuous trait. I was simply role playing'

Doing some prep work for this adventure.

Is the NEG X-3 Prowler a hovercraft (like Luke's Landspeeder) or ground transport (like in Aliens)?

Any chance to get the Hamilton, Montana map as a download?

Thanks!

you can use the photo tool to enlarge it

Yes, I could try and do something. With Conan, Mongoose use to add material in the download section quite a bit. The maps for the CTech adventure would be perfect for the Flaming Cobra download section....

:D

Strom, the Prowler is similar to the APC from Aliens, only faster and sleeker.

I have all the maps for the adventure on file - I can e-mail them to you directly if that helps.
